PART III: AFTER THE UNSEALING OF THE BLACK MAGE

Chapter 28: Fox Valley

• A traveler was called to Vulpes by a fox Anima boy named Maru, who hoped to recruit them into the Fox Point Rangers. Maru revealed that long ago, he had been saved by the Fox God, who had tasked him with protecting the village. Since that day, Maru had been able to meet a fox Anima girl named Sino in his dreams.

• Because of Maru’s playful nature, he would attempt to ‘train’ the fox Anima by playing pranks on them, which had led him to be ostracized by the adults, and even the other children, for which he had sent out a letter, praying to the Fox God that it would reach someone who would be his friend.

• With the traveler having answered the call, Maru began working with them to keep the village safe. Right before the traveler had arrived, Sino had fallen asleep within Maru’s dream and disappeared entirely.

• Just then, a massive lightning storm began approaching Fox Point Village, which threatened to destroy the village entirely. Despite Maru and the traveler’s best attempts to shield the village, the storm nevertheless began flooding the whole valley.

• With no choice, Maru and the traveler began scaling the Fox Tree in order to reach the domain of the Fox God, where they fought against the Fox God’s Sky and Cloud Guardians, who viewed them as intruders.

• After fighting through, Maru found the Fox God asleep and woke her up. The Fox God then dispelled the storm and cleared away the flood, saving the Anima from certain doom.

• After Maru and the traveler left, the Fox God took on the form of Sino and discovered a draining crystal, which had been used by Darmoor’s Apostles to steal and channel the power of higher beings. Realizing that an Apostle of Darmoor was responsible for both the storm and for blocking her vision by putting her to sleep, Sino decided that she would speak with the elders from the realm of the sages.
