PART III: AFTER THE UNSEALING OF THE BLACK MAGE

Chapter 31: Return of Kritias

• Following Kritias’ reappearance, Neinheart sent an Alliance member to investigate its return. The Alliance member learned that the people of Kritias had been frozen in time for centuries, unaware that any time had passed at all since the Black Mage and his Commanders had invaded long ago. Floating in the sky was the castle of Trueffet, which had been transformed into a large golem, as well as disembodied weapons that represented people’s darkest emotions.

• While investigating Kritias, the Alliance member began searching for the princess, whose identity was being kept secret for her protection. After a long search, the Alliance member was finally able to meet the princess, Ione de Kritias, who revealed that her father, King Hekaton, had gone missing after the Black Mage’s invasion, and that a large pentacle had been created with the castle of Trueffet.

• After a long chase for information, the Alliance member discovered that the pentacle had been created by Hekaton for a ritual intended to steal immortality from a mysterious girl who had been captured for experimentation after she had survived a large anti-magic stone explosion. The mages of Kritias revealed that many monstrous creations had been born from the inhumane experiments, and that the Black Mage had likely been drawn to Kritias after the failed ritual in order to capture the girl.
