PART II: AFTER THE SEALING OF THE BLACK MAGE

Chapter 28: The Xenoroid

  • Decades ago, a young boy from Edelstein had been kidnapped by Gelimer and turned into an android named Xenon alongside a girl named Beryl. Over the years, Xenon had his memory wiped as he trained to become Gelimer’s ultimate weapon.

  • One day, the Resistance discovered Gelimer’s secret laboratory, which he kept secret from Orchid. After Claudine was captured, Xenon recognized her from remnants of his old childhood memories. In order to learn more about his past, Xenon chose to betray Gelimer and helped Claudine escape with the help of his friend, Roo-D, a rabbit-fox Xenoroid.

  • At the Resistance headquarters, Xenon removed his control circuit to avoid being controlled by Gelimer, though this severely drained his energy and weakened him. The Resistance leaders were surprised to know that Xenon knew nothing about the Black Wings, despite Gelimer conducting his research for them. Belle, Elex, and Brighton were also surprised to find that Xenon was their childhood friend who had gone missing many years ago, though Xenon had nothing except vestigial memories of his past.

  • Beryl was soon dispatched by Gelimer in order to get Xenon back by following his Pulse, which all active Xenoroids emitted like a heartbeat. Weakened from her earlier battle with Xenon, she was defeated by a similarly-weakened Xenon and forced to retreat.

  • Believing that staying in Edelstein would put the Resistance at risk, Xenon decided to leave town. Though he fled to Henesys and even left Maple World by heading for Pantheon, Beryl continued tracking him with his Pulse. Soon after, Xenon was contacted by Veritas - a secret Resistance research command in Aqua Road - where he agreed to help the scientists there in exchange for them helping him mask his Pulse.

  • With the help of Veritas, Xenon installed Pulse Disruptors across Maple World in order to prevent Beryl from tracking him, thus allowing him to reunite with his friends in Edelstein.

  • Soon after, Xenon learned that Gelimer had secretly asked Dargoth and Francis to capture him without letting Orchid know, though Francis - who was infatuated with Orchid - had reservations about his orders. After Xenon defeated Dargoth and forced him to retreat, he convinced Francis to lie to Gelimer and say that he had failed to capture Xenon.
